1. INKA MUSEUM
Description:
It is one of
the most remarkable colonial houses of the city of Cusco. Built in the early
seventeenth century Inca stone by Francisco Aldrete Maldonado lieutenant mayor,
called the Admiral, who lived until his death in 1643. Rebuilt by Pedro Peralta
de los Rios after the earthquake of 1650 and restored again by the San Antonio
Abad University of Cusco after the earthquake of 1950. Currently holds the arms
of his rebuilders, who added the attractive silver front looks today, and its
large courtyard with arcades and paneled rooms.
Attractives:
It brings
together a vast collection of Keros (carved wooden ceremonial vessels),
textiles, mummies and idols of gold and solid silver, as well as weapons, tools
and Inca pottery. Its architecture shows the splendor of colonial art, as the
outdoor balcony whose central pillar is shaped caryatid. It belongs to the San
Antonio Abad National University of Cusco and has an enviable collection of
archaeological pieces from the Inca culture.

2. PRECOLOMBIAN ART MUSEUM
Description:
Formerly
this house was built to be a school named "Amaru tasting" or
"House of Knowledge", the school of the Incas. It was built in a time
without memory. In 1550 the Spanish conquerors, working to superimpose its
culture on the foundation bowed, made it the home of religious retreat and
later in the Monastery of Santa Clara. In the seventeenth century acquired Luis
Jeronimo Cabrera, whose name stayed attached to the building today.
This
historic building was purchased in 1981 by the Continental Bank. Revived and
packaged in its 2000 square meters by the Foundation, Cabrera House became the
Pre-Columbian Art Museum of Cusco is the first and only museum dedicated to
highlight the Peruvian art of the ancient cultures of Peru. The museum displays
in an orderly and progressive: a Board of Wood, Nazca, Mochica, Huari, Chimu,
Inca, Colonial, Gold Room and Silver Room.
Attractives:
The 403
works of art spanning from 1250 B.C. to 1532 A.D. and were selected from a
universe of 45,000 objects belonging to the Archaeological Museum Rafael Larco
Herrera in Lima. The museology and lighting are spectacular as highlight the
beauty of painting and sculpture in the 11 Peruvian prehistory museum rooms.

3. CASA CONCHA –
MACHUPICCHU MUSEUM
Description:
This
beautiful place is remarkable for its picturesque balconies, was the residence
of Jose de Santiago Concha, aristocrat noticeable during the early days of the
conquest. One of his descendants, Pius Concha Martin, was the last Spanish
governor of Cusco in the nineteenth century. Today belongs to the San Antonio
Abad University of Cusco and houses the archaeological objects found by Hiram
Bingham at Machu Picchu, recently brought from United States.
Attractives:
There are
360 pieces of Machu Picchu returned by Yale University, which may be
appreciated by the Incas and tourists. Also look on pedestals and cabinets in
two rooms on the second level, ceramic, lithic, metal and bones that were found
